I had grand ideas for a memorial for Bones. From making a diamond out of her ashes

to the reef burial.

The one thing I would liek to do is set up a fund in her name. To help others who didn't know, who took the advice of their vets, who vaccinated their cats and are now facing this terrible disease. My idea was to fund the intial testing and consultations. I felt the hardest part was getting the money up for specialist. Then I feel I did it all wrong. Money was tight. I couldn't afford the vets I normally used. I used my low cost vet- whom I love. Please dont get me wwrng as they are awesome. But they are for people on no budget. You can not do VAS cost effectivly. You HAVE to biopsy any lunp first you just have to. Of course this is alot of money to put forth. If I had it it wouldn't be a problem for me to do this. My Bones and Friends fund would be to sponser the costs for lower income people (like me) if their cat has a lump to pay the cost of biopsy and 2 consoltations with a specilist and 1 second opioion from another if needed.
I would also like to fund the cost differnce in the regular adjuvant vaccines and the PurVax vaccines. My clinic vet wont carry the Purvax becuase they are not cost effective and that VAS is rare. ONE IS NOT ZERO. Why condone just a small number of cats dying as long as a larger number live? It doesn't seem right. It's around a 20$ differance here to vaccinate with a purvax vaccine. My Bones Fund Goal would be to ensure every cat vaccinated for rabies is only vaccinated with this vaccine.
Of course money isn't there for that as well. SIGH. But I did find my own memorial for my Bones. She is around my neck next to my heart forever. It's a wondrful tag with he picture on it and In Memory on the back. I coulsn't have asked for a better more cost effeciant memorial for my beloved Bones.
